Facial Massage Technique

Facial Massage Technique

When I’m not rushing to get ready in the morning, or to get into bed at night, I love to take some time to massage my skin after applying my Avoila. Massaging the face increases blood flow to the skin which can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles over time and it also helps awaken the lymphatic system which can help depuff the skin. I notice that my jawline can get puffy after travel or overindulging so massage helps decrease the puffiness by moving the lymph through the body.

I had the opportunity to sit down with Christa Jutras of Everly Grace Whole Beauty to learn about her favorite facial massage techniques

You can watch the video above to learn more or follow the steps below.

Facial Massage Technique

Step 1: Make sure that your hair is pulled back from your face

Step 2: Apply 4-6 drops to your palm, rub your hands together and inhale deeply

Step 3: Take 2-3 deep inhales and long exhales to relax your body and mind

Step 4: Place your hands on either side of your neck and gently brush your neck with your fingertips

Step 5: With your hands in fists, gently glide your knuckles up the jawline on both sides

Step 6: Lift your chin up and using your peace fingers, glide your fingers down from the top of your chin to the top of your neck (you may want to watch the video for this one!)

Step 7: Place your pointer and middle fingers on either side of our ears and gently pump the skin (with a very slight pull) and release.

Step 8: Using the pointer and middle fingers again, place them right under your bottom lip, in the center and draw them out to the corners of your mouth

Step 9: Using only the pointer finger on the top of the lip, start in the middle and draw down to the corners of your mouth. (More of a brushing technique)

Step 10: Place your palms on your face and gently move them up to the top of your face

Step 11: Place your left pointer finger on your nose as an anchor, with your right pointer and middle fingers massage up where those pesky brow lines like to show up

Step 12: With your hands in fists, place them in the center of your forehead and pull out from the center

Step 13: Repeat step 7 to help release any fluid that you’ve dislodged with the massage

Step 14: End with 2-3 deep inhales and long exhales

Steps 4-13: Repeat each action 5-10 times

Enjoy,

Kristy
